NAP flap exhaust - selectable tailpipes (18-23 GT)

For the current Ford Mustang 5.0 V8 (Facelift 2018), the most popular US sports car in Germany and Europe, we have developed a complete sports flap exhaust system that is technically quite different from the products already on the market.

For the Ford Mustang sports exhaust system, which is suitable for both the Coupé (Fastback) and the Convertible, our engineers have decided on a system with a pipe cross-section of 70 mm throughout, as well as a special design. The original centre silencer is omitted and replaced by a specially designed, in-house X-Pipe or optionally H-Pipe. An X-Pipe for the Mustang 5.0 was previously only offered by Ford Racing, but without the obligatory ABE in this country.

Instead of the standard tailpipes, we use double-walled tailpipes with a diameter of 100 mm, precisely fitting the original apron. This special design allows extreme heat to be dissipated from the outer tips, preventing the tailpipes from annealing. At the same time, discolouration of the tailpipes, as seen with the original tailpipes, is avoided. The tailpipes are optionally available in shiny stainless steel, with black ceramic coating or in a carbon variant. The shiny stainless steel version is additionally refined with the NAP logo. In this way, our sports exhaust system retains its high-quality appearance over the entire service life of the system, which is significantly higher than with the original system made of steel components.

The most important aspect of a sports exhaust system, the sound, is always beyond reproach. Our flap sports exhaust system offers a sonorous V8 sound with a goosebump guarantee in its purest form. It is fully integrated into the original flap control system. This not only makes installation easier, but also allows you to switch the flaps from sporty comfort to a throaty NAP racing sound as usual from the cockpit.

The flap exhaust is controlled by the NAP Automatic Wireless Valve Control.

The NAP Valve Control electronic control unit is the brain of our flap exhaust systems. Because the NAP Valve Control unit can read Canbus signals coming from the engine's ECU, it ensures that you are always driving in compliance with the law, no matter what mode you are in. The system is bound by the parameters set by the EU. If necessary, it intervenes smoothly and seamlessly. The electronic flaps are switched from sporty comfort to a throaty racing sound via the NAP button in the cockpit.

The NAP Automatic Wireless Valve Control is based on an interference- and tamper-proof connection between the NAP CAN-BUS radio dongle and the flap control. We have reduced the hardware of the valve control to minimal dimensions. The control unit including the radio module is hardly thicker than a cable.

This results in much simpler installation: the cumbersome laying of cables through the entire vehicle is now a thing of the past!

In addition, our NAP CAN-BUS radio dongle can be looped through, i.e. you can connect other devices to the CAN-BUS and operate them without interference.

TÜV information

There is a generally valid ABE for Germany and an EC approval number for the EU. The number is engraved on the system and you will also receive a written copy of the certificate. With the exception of a few countries, the ABE is even valid worldwide. Our sport flap exhaust system is registration-free.
